Professional Overview

Industry Practice, Research, and Service

Jose Prabhu Michael Singarayan is a seasoned data and analytics leader, researcher, and architect with more than twenty years of professional experience designing and delivering large-scale, enterprise-grade data platforms across retail, public sector, and financial services. He currently works as a Data Scientist and AI data architect, specializing in modern data architecture, cloud-native analytics, and generative AI integration.

His technical expertise spans data lakes, lakehouses, and semantic models on Microsoft Fabric and Azure; enterprise BI strategy and migration from Qlik, Tableau, and OBIEE to Power BI; ETL/ELT pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks; and applied AI through retrieval-augmented generation and conversational BI. He has led the modernization of mission-critical reporting platforms that serve tens of thousands of users while maintaining governance, security, and performance at scale.

In parallel with his industry career, Jose is an active researcher and contributor to the global academic and professional community. He has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed research on generative AI for demand forecasting, explainable graph AI for fraud detection, self-healing supply chains, and real-time learning analytics — work accepted and presented at international IEEE conferences and published in recognized journals.

He is a frequent speaker and invited presenter at technical conferences, academic forums, and professional meetups, including a keynote at PCCDA (Sejong University, Seoul), FOST Toronto, YYC Data Con, and the IEEE Houston Section. Beyond publishing and speaking, he serves the research community as a peer reviewer of 70+ papers across 20 international conferences, as a technical program committee member for nine conferences, and as a judge for university capstone programs and hackathons including Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State University, and LA Hacks.

Jose is a Senior Member of IEEE and holds fellow-level membership in several professional and research organizations — including Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, Fellow of the Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), and SAS Eminent Fellow Membership — reflecting peer recognition of his technical contributions, leadership, and service.

Through his work in industry, research, and community engagement, Jose remains dedicated to building reliable, scalable data platforms and supporting the growth of emerging researchers, engineers, and practitioners worldwide.
